Show that the decay isotopeC rightarrow isotopeB +isotopeH is not possible because energy would not be conserved. The masses of the atoms are mCO mBO and mHO respectively.

Solution:
The mass difference of the left and right side of the considered nuclear reaction is: SolQtydmumCX-mBX-mHXu SolQtydmkdmuX*ncunkg Delta m MisotopeC - MisotopeB -MisotopeH mCO - mBO - mHO dmu dmk Because the right side is heavier than the left side it means the reaction produces mass i.e. it needs energy i.e. it doesn't happen spontaneous.
